Wren

Troglodytes troglodytes 9.5cm

Although Wrens are tiny they are not quite Britains smallest birds, being a little bigger than the Goldcrest and Firecrest.

Wrens can be foiund in woodland and gardens or heathland, as these tiny birds inhabit a wide variety of habitats. Severe winters can deciomate the population in Britain , but the recent trend towards milder winters has seen them flourish.

Being so small and flighty, it has taken me along time to capture images that I felt did these tiny birds justice. The main image here was taken from a hide of a male bird, nest bulilding in my parents garden.
