Habitat Female

Whitethroat

Sylvia communis 14-16cm

These attractive warblers are widespread summer visitors and can be found inhabiting heathland, often near the forest border in areas of Cannock Chase.

The featured bird was photographed near the Katyn Memorial, which is also a good spot for observing Nightjars.

Digiscoping at this location was actually very tricky due to the lighting conditions. I had to compensate for the dark background and out of 20 or so shots taken this was the only one that I was happy with.

The female was photographed at Belvide Reservoir.
