Group Nesting

Mute Swan

Cygnus olor 152cm

Mute Swans are a familiar site in Staffordshire, where they are present on many of our lakes, pools and rivers.

Small groups often live close to people, where they have learned to take advantage of the free food that is often dished out in parks.

On Staffordshire reservoirs such as Blithfield and Belvide, Mute Swans will often be seen in large numbers.

Apart from the group shot taken at Blithfield Reservoir, all of these shots were taken by my wife Helen at Doxey Marshes nature reserve with a Fuji 6900 digital zoom camera.
