Song Thrush

Turdus philomelos 23cm

The Song Thrush is common throughout Britain and Europe where it can be found in a variety of habitats.

The Song Thrush is about the same size as a Blackbird and noticably smaller than the Mistle Thrush, with which it is often confused.

The featured bird was photographed from a hide at Belvide Reservoir after emerging from the undergrowth close to a feeding station.

Clear close up images such as this depend on close proximity and suitable lighting.
