Robin
Erithacus rubecula 14cm
Immediately recognizable, the Robin is one of Britain's most familiar
and popular birds.
Robins are a welcome visitor to many gardens, where gardeners often become
closely acquainted with their local Robin.
The birds featured here were photographed in the same spot where food
was regularly left over a period of several months, and it is entirely
possible that the juvenile bird is also featured in its adult plumage
in one of the other shots, which were taken some three months later.
Robins make great photographic subjects, as they are both photogenic
and confiding. It will be interesting to see if I can add a classic Christmas
card image of a Robin during the winter, that is of course, if we get
any snow this year.
