Grey WagtailMotacilla cinerea The Grey Wagtail is relatively common on North Staffordshires upland streams and rivers, where it may be found sharing habitat with Dippers. They are often tolerant of close approach by humans and may be observed at close quarters flitting from rock to rock with an undulating flight, or hovering momentarily to catch insects. I found the main problem photographing Grey Wagtails was that they seemed to prefer the more deeply shaded areas of the riverbank. |
