'Alice ~ The Musical' Our show 'Alice ~ The Musical' took place at The Lighthouse on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd February 2008. The performances all went extremely well and the whole production was a tremendous success. The rehearsals, as always did their job and provided a wealth of knowledge to assist everyone during the actual performances, especially with the numerous quick changes that had to occur in the wings! I am very proud of all the students who performed with such confidence and talent to make our show such a wonderful success. Thank you again to everyone for all your efforts in making the whole thing run as smoothly as it did. I was very pleased to be able to send a cheque for £600, to the local branch of the NSPCC, being the total raised from our show this year. Videos/DVD’s & Photographs Our official Photograph albums are available during lesson times at The Beaufort Community Centre. If you have not yet seen the photo's please ask. We are very pleased with the quality of the prints again this year and they truly show the spectacular array of colours that filled the stage.
FESTIVALS Some of our students once again entered the Christchurch And District Arts Festival where we won the Youth Dance Section with our 'Summer Collection' dance. Winning this category meant we went on to perform at The Regent Centre, Christchurch on Sunday 4th November 2007. It is with much pride I can announce that we came first in The Dance Competition and were presented with the The Townend Trophy for Dance. This dance along with others that we entered in this years competition will be featured in our show next February. Well done to everyone who took part.
SHOWS Our previous show went extremely well, and the school thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity of dancing, singing and acting in front of a very large and very appreciative audience at all three performances. I was, as always, very proud of the students achievements and have received many wonderful comments from friends, relatives and members of the general public who came to watch. I am thrilled with the quality of the photographs and the DVD, and know all the students were delighted last year to be able to have and keep a copy of their performance forever. The comments from the students themselves were marvelous and I am so pleased that they all once again enjoyed the opportunity to display their many talents. Well done to everyone, you all did brilliantly.
