One of the Air Traffic Control staff was a customer at the family garage business in Southmead Road and my son Alex (then aged 6 pictured left) and myself were very lucky to be invited to the Control Tower at Filton to watch the second of the 25th Annivesary flights come into land (above).

Concorde flew supersonically around the Bay of Biscay and on-board were BAC staff and families who had paid around £400 each for the privilege. How many of us would like the opportunity to do that today!
