Please note that Inter Cheadle are no longer in the first division and as a result I have swapped their fixtures with Reddish Vulcans who like Prodigal sons have returned to the SJML from the Timperley league, also the dates that we were shown as No Game, these dates are now fixtures with Wilmslow Sports. I am not sure which will be home or away games but that can be clarified later, Ian can you have a look at the dates and drop me an e mail if I have got them wrong.
Also you may have noticed that I have put a request on the Home page for some new players, if anyone can recommend a GOOD player or two please contact Ian ASAP, I supsect that we dont just want someone to make up the numbers and that we will be looking for someone to strengthen the team.

Congratulations to the lads for their impressive 5 - nil win against Nick Warners Poynton Vipers under 15s side, The pre season friendly was played at Poynton High School fields last Wednesday evening, the scoreline could have been double that had it not been for the Vipers goalie who pulled off some great saves to prevent a complete drubbing by the younger side.

I have now fully updated the 2008/09 fixtures list, but before the season starts the lads have a training session on Tuesday 2nd September 7pm - 8pm at Hazelbadge playing fields and on Thursday 4th September there is the chance that there will be a friendly match against our sister team Poynton Vipers, further details will be made known in due course. If this game goes ahead then I will take a new team photo and also new individual photos in order to update the site.
You will have noticed that on the first day of the season Poynton JFC have no game but on consecutive Wednesdays, the 10th and 17th of September we have midweek matches where the kick off time will be 6:15pm.
Finally, as you may already know that James Perry AKA “Pez” has made a move to Reddish Vulcans who play in the Timperley League. I would like to say on behalf of the team and parents alike a big “Thank You” you were an important part of the team and helped us to be very successful over the last few seasons, I wish you all the best playing for the Vulcans. I would also like to say “Thanks” to Pez’s dad Phil who helped me pad out this site with his regular match reports. (I dont know what Pez’s transfer fee was but I believe Cammy has the beer kitty that he intends to share out the next time we are all at the Sports Club ! )
