Poynton A ‘v’ Bollington J.F.C
The boys resumed the season at the home of Bollington Juniors today and the weather was indeed atrocious, gale force winds and rain on a very cold day. Poynton played up hill and into the wind from kick off and took the game to the home side, yet the boys went behind early on in the first ten minutes, not for the first time this season.
This set back seemed to spur the visitors on, shots from a number of players missing the mark Paisley, Perry, Potter and Hulme all taking their chances from a variety of distances. Eventually the first Poynton goal of the day feel to Potter an excellent curling dipping shot, leaving the Bolly keeper rooted to the spot it was 1-1 The boys piled on the pressure and Perry put in his first of the day ,it was 2- 1, Potter was the next to score an unfavourable bounce again leaving the Bolly keeper stranded 3- 1 ,the Poynton backs and mid field containing the hard working home side.
The first half ended with the boy’s 2 up.The second half started with Bollington rejuvenated and soon pulled a goal back within the first 5 mins 3- 2. The wind now at their backs the lads were on the rampage Perry scored 4-.2 Perry struck again soon after 5-2 to Poynton,Potter hit the cross bar Kelly hit the post it was pretty much one way traffic. Bell was the next to score from a well placed pass from Perry 6 -2. Perry again took his chance 7-2.
