Prestbury Fc V Poynton A
The Lads were away at the home ground of Prestbury Panthers this evening, it was a sunny evening and the pitch was in poor condition. The game kicked off with the home side electing to play uphill on the extremely narrow ground.
This was going to go some way to thwarting the all action style of the lads. The narrowness closed off too much scope for the attackers whom had to go very central against a physically larger side.
The lads held their own in the first half but were showing signs of fatigue nearing the end of their successful season. They went down 1-nil to a goal which was more of a cross, that wrong footed Wadsworth and the first half ended with Prestbury one up.
The boys had it all to do as the Prestbury team took full advantage of a jaded Poynton side that have been giving away a lot of weight to too many teams this season. They did their best but went down 4-0 to their credit the match they played didn't reflect the content of the game, the game ended with the lads having to wait to play the Prestbury side again next season.
