                                                                     Poynton A  v  Great Moor County A

Sunday the 6th April 2008, the Poynton A side visited Great Moor County A today for a must win game regarding their hopes of winning the league one championship.

It was a cold sunny day and a very slippy surface were not going to suit the quick passing style of the visitors.
Perry was the first Poynton player to narrowly miss putting the boys ahead, keeper Wadsworth was in action soon after coming off his line to collect a 50/50 challenge.
The keeper was called on to make some very good saves throughout the game.

Adam Campball was instrumental in a number of Great Moor advances, delivering his usual vital interceptions.
The game was going to be a tough one for both sides, Ryan Paisley played an outstanding game, commanding the centre of the field, cleaning up any attacks with a maturity beyond his years.

Bell, Potter and Perry were working well, and a number of chances were to go wide, the boys were unlucky not to be a couple up by half time but it was not be,the first half ended nil nil.

The second half kicked off in the same competitive vein as the first, the tense atmosphere continued on and off the pitch. Kelly had a chance and narrowly put a header over the bar it wasn’t going to be Poyntons day.
Paisly was continuing to control the the Great Moor attacks .Mclaren, Tweedy, Kemp, Simpson were soon joined by Martin all were fighting well for every ball.
Kelly and Hulme were both putting some decent balls through and showed composure.

However, the game was to be decided by a free kick awarded to Great Moor and to the home sides credit was put away very well with Wadsworth stretching to get to it.

The game ended one nil to the home side, and all is now set for a very interesting Metro Cup final between the two sides,so well done boy’s and good luck for the final. I’m sure the Great Moor side knew they had been in a tough game and were glad to hear the final whistle.

Cammy’s man of the match went to Paisley as did the Great Moors managers man of the match award.
