Messerchmitt ME163B-1 Komet
After seeing another Website I have decided to create my own Web Pages showing my small collection of Photographs, taken from visits to Museums, and other information I have collected.
The Author, Andrew Walker can be contacted at: Andrew.Walker6@ntlworld.com
The colour photograph (shown below on the right) taken at Duxford has the date of January 1978, I think it shows the aircraft in the colour scheme of how it was previously exhibited at the Imperial War Museum London.

It would appear that restoration work had only just started, the only apparent difference from this photo and the well known Imperial War Museum Postcard (shown above on the left) is that the 1. Staffel Jagdgeschwader 400 emblem has been removed.
Messerschmitt 163 Komet
Riding the Reich's Rocket
Luftwaffe chief test
pilot Rudy Opitz tells how it was to test, develop and
sometimes crash-land the fastest, most
technologically-advanced fighter airplane of the Second
World War. Opitz debunks many Komet myths and sheds new
light on the development of the world's first rocket
fighter and its combat tactics.
