Be Prepared Sudden Shifts in Climate Coming
Data from ancient tree rings and ice cores suggest Earth may soon experience
intense periods of drought and cold.
The evidence? Embedded in ancient tree
rings and ice cores are signs that a quick, drastic change is a fundamental
characteristic of the Earth's climate. The data shows that the climate can
switch abruptly from one mode - such as an ice age - to another, such as a
milder interglacial period, climatologists say.
This could in turn effect humans and the majority of species. Many believe
that the cause is fumes from vehicles and factories.

Take Action
Ancient forests are in crisis. Many of the plants and animals that live
in these forests face extinction, and many of the peoples and cultures who
depend on forests for their way of life are also under threat.

If world governments choose now to save the ancient forests, there is a last
chance to protect these forests and the life they support.
