Step 13
- Cut out strips of 2mm thick balsa wood 22mm x 2mm
- On the top side sand the edge so it is not sharp.
- Stick them length ways all the way around the cylinder from step 12.
- Cut 2 long strips of 1mm thick balsa wood 5mm wide and about 80mm long.
- Stick one going all the way around the cylinder at each end. Pin in place.
- Cut two more strips out of 1mm thick balsa wood 5mm wide long enough to go length ways between the other two strips.
- Glue these in place.
Step 14
- Use the Front wheel (10) and Back Wheel (11) templates to cut out the wheels. Cut out 1 circle for the front wheels and 2 back wheels.
- Cut the Front wheel in half.
- Cut out six triangular holes in each of the back wheels (see picture).
- Cut out 18 1mm thick 4mm x 4mm pieces of balsa wood for each rear wheel.
- Stick them on the wheels (see picture).
- Make a 2mm diameter hole in the centre of each wheel.
Step 15
- Cut a 75mm long piece of 2mm diameter dowel.
- Stick two 15mm long pieces of cocktail stick one 25mm from one end an the other 50mm from the same end.
- Mould modeling clay around this frame (see picture)
