Cut pieces of 1mm thick balsa wood so it is a bit bigger than one of the arches so it goes from the
top section top (5) to the top section bottom (4),this is for the side of the tank.
Use balsa cement to glue the wood in place.
Pin the wood in until the glue has dried.
Repeat steps 4. , 5. and 6. for all the arches.
When this is done trim the balsa wood off where it is too big.
Step 8
Cut a piece of balsa wood big enough to fit between the gap at the top of the bottom section at the back.
Put that piece in the gap on the bottom section so it is wedged in.
Put balsa cement on the piece of balsa wood wedged in and stick the top section on top in the centre so there is the same amount of space all around it.
When it is dry take the top section off and the bit of balsa wood will be stuck to it.
Step 9
Get the turret top (7) and turret bottom (6) which were cut out earlier.
Hold the turret top above the turret bottom with supports so it is 10mm above it.
Cut pieces of 1mm thick balsa wood so it is a bit taller then the side so it goes from the
turret top (7) to the turret bottom (6) but only a bit around it, this is for the side.
Use balsa cement to glue the wood in place.
Pin the wood in until the glue has dried.
Repeat steps 4. , 5. and 6. for all around the turret.
When this is done trim the balsa wood off where it is too big.
Cut the bottom of the turret bottom (6) so it slanted up and out.
This is what the turret should look like on the top section (with empire engineer in it).
This is what the whole thing will look like together.
