English people don't understand Glasgow. All they see is tower blocks, crime, sectarianism, drink, drugs,  and deep fried Mars bars. They never see the other Glasgow, the Second City of the Empire, the Glasgow of Kelvin, Burrell and Charles Rennie Mackintosh. No other British or Irish city outside London comes anywhere near Glasgow in terms of things to do and places to see.

Glasgow Green. Glasgow is a Gaelic name "Glas cu" meaning "Green Place".
