Russell Howard
Pavilion
Your Labour Councillors for South Ham are happy to report a
solution has been found for the long-suffering sports pavilion at Russell
Howard Park.
The pavilion is used by numerous sports teams including the Basingstoke
Netball Club and the Basingstoke Labour Football Club.
The pavilion was suffering from no hot water and totally inadequate
facilities for the ladies netball teams.

Ham Councillors Win Improved Concessionary Fares for Residents
Labour
Cabinet Members have agreed to backbenchers' demand for an increase on the base
rate of the token to be made in line with inflation, in order to avert the
threat of a call-in.
The original proposals extended free bus tokens to 60-64 year old men and Free
Fare Bus travel to the partially sighted, but contained no inflationary increase
for existing holders. This was in spite of bus fares rising by up to 20% last
year.
Labour Cllr Sean Keating said,
“Cabinet have given their
promise that they will increase the base rate of the token by £1.00 which is a
1.9% increase, slightly above the rate of inflation at 1.5%”.
