Labour Targets Yob
Culture
Hooligans as young
as 16 will face fines of up to £80 as part of David Blunkett's attempts
to outlaw anti-social behaviour.
£75 million is being spent over
the next 3 years to support the drive to tackle anti-social behaviour.
Locally, youth
nuisance is becoming more of a problem, and is being reported for the
first time in formerly quiet estates such as Harrow Way, Hatch Warren,
Kempshott and Chineham.
Locally and nationally, Labour has a wide range of plans to deal with
youth nuisance:
* more Police on the beat
* the
introduction of Neighbourhood Wardens following the successful Buckskin
pilot
* the setting up of youth schemes along the lines of the successful scheme
at Winklebury,
which has significantly reduced crime there
* investing in Youth Workers
We are building
better facilities and listening to the community. Labour is determined
to deliver on this critical issue.
