Biography

Member of the LTA South Regional Tennis Academy at Sutton Junior Tennis Centre training on average three hours each day, including squads, guidance from a national coach and fitness, plus tournament planning

Played first tournament at 6 years of age
First title: Surrey 8 & U Short Tennis Champion
Has won over 100 tournaments from 10 & U to 18 & U age-groups
Represented Great Britain in France at age 10
Always been in the top 5 players in her age-group

1998 - Semi-finalist at the 12 & U Nationals at Bisham Abbey

1999 - 14 & U Nationals - lost to the eventual champion

2000 - 
15 & U Nationals - reached third round losing to eventual champion
15 & U doubles - reached semi-final
18 & U Nationals - youngest player to win through 3 qualifying rounds and won first round match in the Main Draw
Winner of The Sunday Telegraph/David Lloyd Grand Prix at Boca Raton, Florida (October)
Junior Orange Bowl in Florida (December) - reached last 32 in 14 & U
Miami Shores Tournament (December) - reached semi-final

2001 -
Represented Great Britain in Munich, Slovenia, Belgium, Holland and at home in Leeds against Sweden
In Slovenia reached the final of the singles ETA tournament and two doubles finals
Played Senior Nationals in Bolton
Played $25,000 tournament in Bolton

2002 -
Earned Junior World Ranking at ITF events in Sweden and Austria
End of January - playing for GB in a friendly match against Holland
June - Won through Wimbledon Pre-Qualifying just a little over a month past 16th birthday.  In final round against Alice Barnes, won 7-6(6) 7-5, having been 2-6 down in the first set tie-break and 2-5  games down in the second set.  
Lost first round of Qualifying to Adriana Barna (GER) 4-6 4-6.

Tennis ambitions

To become a top 10 professional tennis player

Targets for 2002 include obtaining a Junior World ranking, improving ETA ranking, entering $10,000 events to gain a World ranking and playing more British Tour events
