We wanted to remind the world why we were celebrating the year 2000. As a visible sign, we decorated the windows of the church which face the busy A6 'Barton Road'.  The number 2000 surrounds the central cross. For the first four months of the year the church was illuminated every evening.

On new year's eve the church was open from 10am to 6pm. We distributed around 1000 cards inviting local people to come and light a candle for the new millennium. Over 120 candles were lit during that time. Many prayers were placed on our 'prayer board'.

In 2001 we updated our windows to remind ourselves (and anyone passing) that Christ came for everyone in Luton, not to mention the rest of the world!  At the end of 2001 we took down the lettering, leaving just the central cross in place.
