For the first time since I moved to Luton we had some decent snow this winter. I wasted no time in getting the trains out. I did have to resort to using a shovel to clear the track. The steam looked much better in real life than it does on these pictures.
Connie was the first engine to venture round the cleared track. She picked up a pile of snow in the cab steps as a result. The van in the middle of the train (a Brandbright kit) was a Christmas present from my Dad - built on Boxing Day while listening to 'Harry Potter' on the radio.
Grandad emerges from a bush laden with berries on a freight train.
With the rails just two dark lines in the snow, Grandad eases a freight train past the snowdrifts.
The snow on either side of the line is up to the carriage roofs as Grandad takes a passenger train around the garden.
