Bertram Wearing is a believer he believes he can take his 1969 Humley Major Mark C to compete in the toughest and most gruelling classic car rally there is - The Four Corners Of The Apocalypse. Visiting all four corners of England, non-stop, without motorways, may seem straight forward enough. But to do it in the dead of winter, in a car thats at least twenty-five years old which has been dubbed "the most unreliable car in British post-war motoring history" by leading magazine, Practically Sports Cars, is nothing short of suicide. SYNOPSIS | CHAPTER 1 | CHAPTER 2 | CHAPTER 3 | PLAYLIST Seriocomical Science Fiction Comedy Science Fiction - now there's a contradiction; a bit like Star Wars (stars don't fight each other). Or is it? The OD Paradox Science Fiction looks atthe world from a different perspective. Comedy looks at the world through those funny glasses that make your eyes look like they're popping out on springs. You'd think that the two would go in hand. The comedy yin to the yang of all the dark, sinister Sci Fi that, perhaps, takes itself far too seriously? But if that's the case, then where is it all? Where are the planets that look like Aunti Mable's face, the aliens who get space-sick, the rockets that run on custard? My mission: to bring the comedy balance back to Science Fiction. You can make a start on this too, by reading my article published in the journal of the British Science Fiction association.
