Playgroup sessions are held at Burton Community Centre,  Northfield Lane,  Highburton, Huddersfield, HD8 0QT.

The sessions are on Monday to Friday mornings, and Thursday afternoon (pre-school 4 year olds only) during school term times.

Our starting and finishing times are:

 Morning: 9.00 – 11.45 Monday to Friday

 Afternoon: 1.00 – 3.00 Thursday (4 year olds only)

We try to ensure that the sessions start promptly at 9.00, so please wait in the Reception Area until we open the door.  We would also like to encourage you to be on time at the end of the session. To be the last child waiting to be collected can be quite traumatic for a 2½ year old!

Our normal format is to begin the session by allowing the children to involve themselves in the activities of their choice for the first hour. Weather permitting, outside play is available throughout the session.  Drinks and fruit or a biscuit are available all morning for those children who want them. At around mid-morning we have a ‘sing-song’ involving all the children and staff.  There is then a further session of free play and we round off the session with story time. 

Fees

At the moment, our fees are £4.00 per session.

If your child qualifies for Nursery Grant and you choose not to use this at Highburton Playgroup, then a charge of £5.00 per session will be made.

Invoices are issued during the first two weeks of each half term, for the full half term session.  We ask that payment is made as promptly as possible.  Unfortunately, no reductions can be made for holidays or sickness.

We require one half-term's notice if your child is leaving Playgroup.  If we get insufficient notice, we may have to charge for loss of fees over this period.
