All of our staff work at least two of our sessions, and your child will get to know them well very quickly. She will learn to trust them and the other adults who visit the group – such as other parents – and the good relationships she develops with them will pay dividends when she meets new adults in the future.

All our staff are parents themselves, and all have several years experience of working with children, in Playgroups, Toddler Groups or as childminders. There will always be at least one PLA trained member of staff at each session, as well as one trained First Aider.  We occasionally have students / helpers in addition to the regular staff.

At Playgroup, the staff are called ‘Mrs XXXX’. The children soon get to know their names, and it prepares them for School.

Highburton Playgroup fully support children with Special Educational Needs and operate a full SEN policy which is available on request. We also promote Equal Opportunities for all, a full copy of our Equal Opportunities policy is available on request.

Key Worker System

The Playgroup operates a Keyworker System, a Keyworker has special responsibilities for a small group of children.  This helps to gain useful information from parents about their child and also inform parents about their child's progress.  Your child will be allocated a Keyworker once they have started at Playgroup.  The Keyworker will remain the same throughout their time at Playgroup.
