You are always welcome at Playgroup, for parents are as much a part of the Playgroup as their children. There are always jobs that need doing, and many children enjoy having the company of another adult to play and talk with. It is important for your child that you take an active part in Playgroup in any way you can, so that she feels that you too are part of the Playgroup. You may be able to share a special skill or interest such as music, cooking, dance or movement, with the children. Please feel free to come along at any time.
The other most important job for parents in Playgroup is the Committee. The Playgroup belongs to the families who use it, and it is the Parent Committee which runs the business side of the Playgroup, in close co-operation with the staff. The Committee, which acts on behalf of the parents, is elected at the Annual General Meeting, usually held in the Spring term, and normally serve for a year.
The aim of the Committee is to work alongside staff in maintaining the standards expected by parents. It also raises funds to buy new, and replace old equipment and toys for the Playgroup. We always welcome new ideas and suggestions for the Playgroup and appreciate your support.
