Online IT Dictionaries
WHATS'S?COM is an excellent reference site for IT information covering all aspects of the computing world.
WEBOPEDIA claims to be "The only online dictionary and search engine you need for computer and Internet technology".
Whilst TECHWEB claims to have more than 20,000 IT terms / definitions.
FOLDOC is a free 'Online' Dictionary Of Computing
There are many excellent 'single source' sites of information on the web. These sites are not specific to IT or technology but are more like electronic encyclopedies, again I have included a few links below;
REFDESK claims to be ‘the’ single best source of information / facts – convenient for quick general reference, whilst SCIRUS is a search engine dedicated to finding scientific information only, an excellent source for research material.
Cambridge dictionary 'online' is a quick and accurate look up service and offers links to other services.
Logos is a translation company but offers an excellent Childrens dictionary available in all languages.
MSN / Encarta offer a free dictionary service, again includes a variety of links off this page you may find interesting.
If you are looking for a translation from one language to another Ultralingua offers a sevice for translating individual words, if you require a piece of script translating there are other sites available which offer a 'free' service but also many sites charge for this.
