I wanted to beef my Gargant up a bit so took the arms off a Mega Gargant I had and stuck them on. For the belly gun I cut the gun off the Gargants arm and stuck it in place with some green stuff and super glue, I also added a chain which was just some old jewelery I found. After that I just tweaked his feet to give him the right feel of movement, see below for how I attatched him to the base.
I undercoated it black, then lightly painted it with a mix of Tin Bitz, Brazen Brass and Scorched Brown, leaving some black showing through in places. Then I painted some small streaks randomly all over the model with Chainmail and Boldgun Metal to simulate projectile strikes. Next I painted the whole thing in watered down Brown Ink. Once I had done that I dry brushed everything with Boltgun Metal and kept doing it until I was happy with the metal look, it took a number of coats until it stopped looking too brown. The red is a single coat of Blood Red which gives a great mucky colour. The teeth are Bleached Bone.
The Gargant is supported in two places on the base. The first is on his left foot with is touching the ground, to make this more sturdy I glued a rock the shape of a wedge behind his foot. The other foot is supported by a tac with the point facing up into his foot, I used green stuff and super glue to fix the tac to the base then I drilled a hold into the foot into which the point of the tac fited. The base is first painted with Graveyard Earth. Then I applied a coat of watered down PVA glue and then poured sand onto them. Once that had dried I applied another coat of watered down PVA to fix the sand. The trick is to find the right colour of sand and then get lots of it so you never run out.
