Other Formats [1]- [2]
Large Format These cameras are often used for studio or architectural work. Film sizes are 5x4 inches and 10x8 inches. Due to its size this kind of camera must be used on a tripod and is therefore fairly slow and cumbersome to use. But it produces very high resolution images that are virtually grain free and are very suitable for billboard advertising.

APS Advanced Photo System format introduced around 1996 as the film industries answer to the emerging digital format. Films come in a cassette slightly smaller then a 35mm film and negatives are 24mm wide. Information recorded on a magnetic strip during use is used by the processing labs equipment to produce panoramic, widescreen or classic size prints. It also records lighting, date and time. APS cameras are available in single use, compact and SLR format.

Digital Rapidly evolving format that looks like it is overtaking film based photography soon. First digital camera's where produced in the late 80's by SONY, but where very expensive and had a low resolution. Today prices are coming down and the latest SLR based digital models by NIKON and CANON have a resolution of more than 10 megapixel using a CCD sensor that is the same frame size as a 35mm film. This means that when using these Digital SLR cameras you can use your existing lenses and these work at the same focal length as on traditional SLRs.
