HISTORY
- National Energy Foundation & Low Impact Living Intiative (LILI) joined forces with financial assistance from the EU to organise courses in Wisbech and Norwich. The first courses were supported by Broadland District and South Norfolk Council's and designed to simulate interest locally to run and organise courses. As a result of the two courses a local person undertook training and research into solar water heating systems. This person then set up Norfolk Solar to run courses locally under the initial supervision of the Low Impact Living Initiative (LILI).

- Broadsol Solar Water Heating Project. During the first 2 courses a number of householders expressed the desire to have a system professionally installed but did not want to risk asking unknown companies to undertake the work. Also the perception was that systems were too expensive. This was the reason for a pilot project to install 40 systems that would be monitored through the UEA to ascertain actual performance in different situations.

- Broadsol Workshops & Training Days. There have been two workshops organised locally through Norfolk Solar and one training day. Workshops always happen over a weekend and are organised when demand dictates.
- Broadsol Workshops. By the end of the year there will have been two workshops. The first in June was at the Eco-tech Centre in Swaffham and the second in November in Norwich.
