Required User Privileges - Windows 2000/XP
To Install or Uninstall, log on as a member of the Administrators group.
Once installed and configured, any user can run the program.     There is no need to be a Power User or an Administrator for everyday operation.
When entering your registration code you should log on as a Power User or Administrator, this is because the registration data needs to be saved to the install directory.
(Power User and Administrator roles refer to Windows security groups).
Post-Install Setup
You will need to create at least one CNC machine profile when you first run CNC File Transfer.     CNC machine profiles contain information about the machine communication parameters and your preferences regarding file locations and filename extensions.
CNC machine profiles in version 2.6x were 'per user', in version 3.x profiles may be 'per user' or 'per machine'. A 'per machine' profile can only be created and edited by a Power User but it will be available for use by all users of the computer.     All users can create and edit their own 'per user' machine profiles.
In version 3.x there is a new menu called 'Tools'.     This menu can be customized by a Power User to add links to executable files or documents.
