about Chorley Ju Jitsu Club
Chorley Ju Jitsu Club is a small club that trains once a week at the all seasons sports centre, the club has been running under the Miyabi Ryu school of Ju Jitsu for a little under two years, with its head instructor Sensei Alan Martin taking over the helm after a year.
CJJC, is a mixed class with a few adults but mainly juniors training at the same time 6-7pm every Monday night excluding bank holidays. These are dedicated and enthusiastic students who are at trained to a high standard as this reflects on both students, Club and instructor, CJJC can honestly be said to be a good Club to train in due to the friendly atmosphere and the helpful and welcoming attitude of its students
Sensei ( teacher) grades the class only when he feels that they are good enough to grade rather than have a set curricula as this promotes the students personal growth rather than a cupboard full of coloured belts.
new students are welcome to come down and have a go, taster sessions are free, all parents are encouraged to come down to see their kids training, and can talk to the instructors or administration team at any time about any aspect of the training.
The head instructor and all visiting coaches are qualified sports coaches with full CRB (criminal records Bureau) checks and all carry full public liability insurance, Parents are also allowed / Encouraged to see these qualifications before enrolling either themselves or there children into the club.
Sensei Alan is currently a second Dan in Jujitsu, who has been studying the art of Ju Jitsu for over 7 years, and has had the pleasure of being trained by some of the most prominent and knowledgeable martial artists studying an array of different styles around today, and also a current First aider and a Health and safety Representative (ROES)
The instructors and coaches at Miyabi Ryu have Trained in Portugal, Ireland, Brussels, Scotland, and many places in mainland Britain doing as many courses and seminars as possible to help expand their knowledge and pass this on their students helping to growing the style and techniques
