The Orion Pub
Two pictures of the Orion Pub in Burton Rd Withington, Manchester. One of which is looking towards Withington Village where you can see the clock on top of the Withington Ale House (ex white lion pub)

View of the side of the Orion in Patten Street.

Two photos below of Eddisbury Avenue Withington Manchester.
On this particular snap below, of my old avenue where the grid is in the middle, is where we used to have our bonfires on Nov 5th (guyfawkes night). Sometimes the flames were so big the fire brigade were called out, it was fuelled by old settees cut down trees, privets, bushes, garden gates, timber or anything that burnt. The fireworks were Snow Storms, Rit Rats, 1d bangers, cannons and of course the rockets. Does anyone remember any others, or have they got any tales of bonfire nights in the fifties?
