Wey & Arun - much fencing work, including high tensile stock fencing, post and rail, post and wire and single strand high tensile stock fencing. Initial lock clearance work on the canal with a regard to trying to maintain as much of the original structure as possible intact has involved the removal of mature trees at precarious angles. The canal had lain derelict for many years (1871) giving opportunity for existing trees to mature and also for invasive species to move in and grow to maturity.
Work continued on the Wey & Arun Canal in summer 2004 as part of an ongoing commitment to remove dead and overhanging limbs from trees along the line of the recently restored lower stretches of the canal allowing for passage of the trip boat.
A return Easter trip was paid to the Wey & Arun in 2005 by Graham, Sue, Jen & Clive working the full four days of the Easter Bank Holiday, continuing to remove dead wood from overhanging trees.
