On all Sundays except the first Sunday in each month we have services
at 8.00am, 10.15am and 6.30pm
and the pattern of worship at these services is as follows:
Sunday at 8.00am
Holy Communion (Common Worship, Order One)
This is a said service without hymns
There is always a short address.
Sunday at 10.15am
Parish Communion (2nd & 4th Sundays in the month)
Morning Worship (3rd & 5th Sundays in the month)
This mid-morning service, whether Parish Communion or Morning Worship,
is a service attended by people of all ages.
This is a service at which children and their families will feel very
much "at home". The children join the rest of the congregation for the
first part of the service before moving through to our Chapter House for
the Sunday School or the Creche. The children return to share in the last
part of the service. For those toddlers who prefer to remain with their
parent(s) throughout the service, we provide "Busy Bags" to occupy them
if they get restless!
After this service, there is a chance for people to meet over a cup of
tea or coffee in the Chapter House.
Sunday 6.30pm
Evensong (Book of Common Prayer) This opportunity for reflective evening
worship is normally sung, with hymns and a sermon.
On the 3rd Sunday in each month our choir is joined by members of other
choirs for a full choral evensong, when an anthem is sung in place of
the sermon.
On the 1st Sunday in each month we have services at 8.00am, 9.30am,
11.00am and 6.30pm. The pattern of worship is:
First Sunday in the month
at 8.00am As on other Sundays
First Sunday in the month at 9.30am
Family & Childrens Service
This is an informal service especially for young children.
The children remain in church throughout the service which lasts about
40 minutes.
After this service, there is a chance for people to meet over a cup of
tea or coffee in the Chapter House.
First Sunday in the month at 11.00am
Mattins (Book of Common Prayer)
This traditional form of morning prayer is a sung service led by our choir.
The service includes hymns for the congregation and a sermon.
First Sunday in the month at 6.30pm
Holy Communion (Common Worship, Order One) with the laying-on of hands
for blessing and healing
This service is normally a sung service of Holy Communion.
People who wish to do so are invited to remain at the altar-rail, after
they have received communion, for the ministry of laying-on of hands for
blessing and healing.
Everyone will be made welcome at all of our services
