When WeatherheadHigh School closes the doors on its Mount Pleasant Road site in July, prior to its move to the new
school on Breck Road, it will be leaving behind a rich history,
one which it would like to celebrate with its former pupils and staff.
On Saturday 10th May and Saturday 21st
June, the Middle School site (the red brick, former Wallasey High School
Building), will be open from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm for those former pupils,
teachers and other staff who wish to visit the building for the last time.
We are offering:
·An
exhibition drawn from the school's extensive archives
·The
chance to have individual and group photographs taken
·Souvenirs
and momentoes for sale
·Films
of Weatherhead, past and present
·Photographs
of the new school at Breck Road
·The
opportunity to share your memories of the school with current pupils from our
Radio Club, who will record them for our archives
·Tickets
for the school's Big Draw, with fantastic prizes
·Refreshments
provided by the Weatherhead Association
·The
opportunity to sign the Visitors' Book for your leaving year
In addition, if you have any souvenirs from your
school days which you would like to donate to our archives,
we would be delighted to accept them or to scan or photocopy them on the day
and return them to you immediately.
Whether it is for a nostalgic wander to relive your
schooldays, or just to enjoy the moment, you will be made very
welcome.
