OUR TRAVELS 2008
In February we spent a couple of days in Rotterdam.
Arriving on the Monday morning we where puzzled as to why the streets where deserted , apart from the odd street cleaner and delivery men we seemed to be the only people there.
By about 10,30 we were in need of a coffee but every where was shut, no one had told us Monday is half closing day and shops don`t open until noon
It gives one a chance to take street shots without people in the way I suppose.
We had a day in Barcelona another in Gerona both highlights of the whole tour.
The Church in Barcelona was mainly covered in scaffolding but that is not surprising as it is still not finished building after hundreds of years, (they hope to finish in about 35 years time).
But scaffolding apart it is an unforgettable sight.
The Gerona cathedral, apparently the largest single span
ned roof of any cathedral in the world was also partly scaffolded. We visited Barcelona football stadium and the Olympic stadium ,from the Olympic stadium you get fantastic views over
the city.
In September we went overland to Spain with one night stopover in France both ways.
We where based in Santa Susanna and visited other resorts along the coast including
Tossa-
