Hamish Fraser, the owner of the Zeuas Hotel, says the guest commited suicide but Nicky Stavros thinks it might be murder. Thereafter several of the guests die in mysterious circumastances. Accident, suicide or murder? Nicky can't make up her mind.

Nigel Lindsey, a lawyer, meets an attractive achoolteacher, Alison Howard during a climbing trip to the Trossachs. They are attracted to one another at once and begin to date on a regular basis. The only problem with the romance is that Nigel is married. But his wife wants a divorce or separation to live with another man and although Alison is happy to have a friendly relationship with Nigel she insists that he try for a reconciliation with  his errant wife.  On the way back from a marriage counsellor Nigel's wife dies in a motor accident (he was driving the car). This makes it possible for him and  Alison to marry. After a few years of happy marriage, Alison develops cancer with an unexpected complication. A desperate battle for life and recovery ensues.
