Box Sets 3- 'this time it's personal'

Now it seems that the doyle's at Elektra intend to release the set of  'Re-masters' individually, including the rip-off CD 'Essential Rarities'  (that's a laugh they've been released more times than

Tory cabinet Ministers). Do these people know no shame. How

many times do they intend to sell us the same records.

Slightly in their favour it seems that the internet label 'Bright Midnight' is progressing nicely.                                                    AP.

Sadly that was about it for Howard and the boys as their

lack-luster fourth effort "Lunch" proved to be

a disappointment and failed to capitalize on the brilliance

of "House".  Although tracks like "Trombone Gulch"

and "Thunder & Lightning" tried to hark back to

better days, they split shortly after its release. Howard

Werth tried to soldier on with his band "The

Moonbeams" and released "King Brilliant " on

Charisma.  Far from being brilliant it featured

some embarrassing Bowie clone vocals and dismal songs

that were not worthy of so fine a talent.

They supported Zeppelin, Floyd and Bowie played the Isle

of Wight Festival with The Doors and delighted their

own fans from Durham to Dover but sadly never quite

made it. We never did get to hear Howard sing "Riders

on the Storm",  but through it all their fans will

always fondly remember Audience, as one of England's

most unusual and unique combo's.                    AP.

John Densmore  movie maker.

It's heavily ironic that John is so far the only Door so far to make a movie, considering both Ray and Jim earned film degree's at UCLA and Ray has never shut up for ten years in his criticism of Oliver Stone's mad Doors movie. It's refreshing to see John of all people

take the lead in this field. His documentary film 'Road to Return'

is narrated by Tim Robbins and deals with the US penal system and

the rehabilitation of felon's. Actor, writer, musician and now film

maker is there no end to this guy's talents ( what next -President!)

NB:- Ray fight's back by directing indie film called 'Love Her Madly'.

Is this the 'LA Woman' project he has talked about in interviews

over the last decade? We await with interest.                           SP.
