Ray Manzarek-keyboards and vocals

Ray proved to be the only one to produce a post-Door masterpiece check out his amazing version of "Carmina Burana". His first couple of efforts were pretty cool too. We like "Love it or leave it" from "The Whole Thing Started With Rock & Roll". Worked with LA band 'X' and recently with Jim's poet pal Michael McClure ( look out for Ray's new video with Mike- 'The Third Mind'.) Supercool ,intelligent and slightly nuts but Scorpywag  like him `cos he has a ginger cat.           SP

ay, the space cadet of the band, has more weird religious beliefs than David Icke (English T.V sports presenter turned purple clad doyle who believes he`s actually God). A true master of

the keyboard with the dress sense of Benny Hill. Spit out his dummy when Oliver Stone wouldn`t let him direct the Doors movie. So sulked off with his karma and hurled abuse at everybody over the fence.

He did have a point as mad Ollie`s version ,brilliant as it may be is a bit nuts. Sadly however petulance became Ray`s watchword and he`s been slagging it off for ten bloody years nearly. ( take a chill pill Ray-asst ED).                                    Hunched over his keyboard he became The Doors engine room, driving the music headlong into insanity and beyond and like his three band mates he was a true musical genius.                                                                                No set of musicians ever could equal what they managed

to achieve. ( most of today's throwaway bands lack the heart to try, they'd rather just pocket the cash.)                                      His book caused as much controversy as John`s and likewise continues to do so.( better than being consigned

to the rubbish bin of history  though  eh! chaps -Asst ED )                                                 We think "Light my fire" the better effort-though Ray`s philosophical meanderings tend to get on our tits a bit.             Ray`s 9/10 John`s 8/10.
