This path for walkers and cyclists starts near the Marina in Swansea at one end and follows the curve of the bay to Mumbles at the other. Here, we are at West Cross and are going to take a short walk to Blackpill. The photos were taken earlier in the week on two different days.

I like to walk along here in the early morning, especially in the summertime when the weather is fine. The building on the right is the West Cross Hotel. .

Looking back we see the path curving around to Oystermouth.

In this photo, looking towards Mumbles, the sand has been uncovered by the receding tide. .

Taken from near to the same position as the previous photo, you can see how the scene has changed when the tide is in. The hill above Mumbles sweeps down to the sea to enclose the western side of Swansea Bay and at its tip is Mumbles Head and the lighthouse .

Before we continue on our way to Blackpill, let us sit awhile on one of the many benches placed on the bank above the path and take in the view. From here we can see of the whole of Swansea Bay from Mumbles in the west to Port Talbot and beyond in the east..

We are almost at Blackpill and looking across the wet sand to the city centre which lies in the hollow between Townhill on the left and Kilvey Hill on the right.

At Blackpill there is a grassy area with picnic tables... .

.... a paddling pool for the children....

...and across the road is a pub for the adults. .
