There are three public parks in the west of Swansea and all within a short distance of each other, namely, Singleton, Brynmill and Cwmdonkin. This is a photo of the lake in Brynmill.

The lake is the main feature of Brynmill Park and the swans and ducks are an added attraction. As I walked around the perimeter of the lake I was surprised to see a black swan. I waited for a while for the black swan to come out of the shadow of the overhanging trees so I could get a photo but I waited in vain. I shall have to go back on another day.

A view from the other side of the lake.

A short walk through the Uplands area of the town and we come to Cwmdonkin Park. I walked past the house where the poet Dylan Thomas was born and into the park where he played as a child..

I spotted this stone inscribed with an extract from his poem "Fern Hill".

We are now in Singleton Park Botanical Gardens where many of the flower beds are in full bloom.

Daffodils are everywhere .. in pots and among the trees and shrubs.

This fountain was donated to the city by a local businessman. Originally placed in the city centre,....

.....it was later moved the a more suitable setting here in the Gardens. The fountain is not working at the moment.. someone must have turned off the water.

A few people enjoying a quiet moment in glorious surroundings.
