Reynoldston and Cefn Bryn.

This afternoon, the village of Reynoldston is my starting point for a short walk along the ridge of Cefn Bryn..

A stony track follows the side of the village green to the narrow road that leads to Burry Green. I intend to follow the road for just a short distance and then climb the side of Cefn Bryn to reach the ridge

Just a little way along the road I come to the Post Office and on the opposite corner is the Methodist Chapel..

After passing the Methodist Chapel, I stop to take a photo of the post office; the village green is in the background.

The road climbs steeply to its highest point and it is there that I leave the road and start walking up the side of Cefn Bryn where I meet a walker going the other way.. .

At the top, there are wonderful views in all directions.....

..... but from this part of Cefn Bryn, my favourite views are of the patchwork fields .....

......and the Loughor Estuary to the North.

There are several prehistoric burial chambers in Gower and one of the most impressive is King Arthur's Stone. The capstone weighs 25 tons and the whole structure was once covered by an earth mound.

Another view shows the smaller supporting stones. This seemed as good a place as any to stop for a drink of coffee from my flask before I head for the road that runs over Cefn Bryn and down into Reynoldston..

Just off the road, near the highest point of Cefn Bryn, is a popular parking spot where motorists like to sit and admire the view, take a little walk, or perhaps, like this family, get a picnic organised. I wasn't in any hurry to complete my walk so I stayed here awhile ..... .

.... before following the road down the hill to the village and back to my car..... 'bye.
