Swansea ..... Felindre Village and Lower Lliw Reservoir.
Weather: Sunny. Temp: 5C

The small village of Felindre lies just to the north of Swansea just below the two reservoirs which serve
the Swansea area. They
are the Upper and Lower Lliw. Today I am going to take a walk around the
Lower Lliw , but first I went into Felindre to take these pictures of the old water mill.
I wonder if letters are still collected from that old postbox on the wall.

Its many years since the old mill wheel was turning... part of the building is now used as a teashop.

I've now arrived at the reservoir and the sign tells me so, in both English and Welsh.

A roadway running up the east side of the reservoir leads on to the upper reservoir but my
walk today is around the lower.

This opening in the bushes provided my first good view of the water. There were a couple of
fishermen lower down the bank casting for trout.

I saw this disturbance in the water..could we have a monster in the Lower Lliw? Unfortunately
it was nothing more than water being recirculated as part of the water management.

This is a popular place both for fishermen and for walkers. Here is a couple enjoying an afternoon stroll.

I am now at the northern end of the reservoir and I leave the roadway here to descend to the
level of the water. The road carries on up into the hills.

Crazy twisted steps lead down almost to water level..

A short walk and there is a small wooden bridge over the stream that connects the upper to the lower
reservoir. Over the bridge and I start down the opposite side.

There is no roadway on this side of the reservoir just a narrow path hugging the waters edge.

Looking back I see the water stretching away in to the distance.

On the hillside above me sheep peacefully graze in the field below the farm buildings.

Almost to the end of my walk... just along the top of the dam and I'll be back where I started.

One last look over the water and its time to leave.
