VIPodS - Virtual Instrument Pod System
|
- All pods are the same size (65x55x17mm) as shown in the
photograph.
- They are connected
to your PC and powered via the parallel port
- A single pod may be plugged into the parallel port. Up
to 4 pods, in any mix, may be connected via the parallel cable VIPar cabling system
- A D25 male connector plugs into the parallel port or extension
cable. Input/output signals are connected via a D25 female.
- Supplied with the VIPS software package which allows easy configuration of Virtual Instrumentation
displays. Configuration files for an experiment
can be stored for later use.
- DLLs and assembler drivers provided for those who want
to write their own software

VIPod 10

Analog Pods- There are 4 analog pods in the VIPodS range
|
|
These pods allow your PC to be used as a digital
oscilloscope, panel meter, data logger, signal generator
and arbitrary waveform generator.

VIPod10
and VIPod10/20 - Analog
Input and Input/Output
|

|
Inputs - 8 channels single-ended, 4 channels
differential on an individual channel basis. 12bit,
1mV resolution. 4V or ±2V ranges, software
selectable. Max sampling rate approx 10,000
samples/sec. Output - VIPod10/20 only. 1
channel as VIPod20 below.
Note that the VIPod10/20 occupies
2 pod positions in the VIPS software.

VIPod20 - Analog Output
|
|
|
Outputs:- 4 channels 12bit four-quadrant multiplying.
With internal reference, can be linked to give
output ranges of 2V, 4V and ±2V. This gives
0.5 or 1mV resolution. |

VIPod60 - Analog Switch
|
|
|
8 individually controlled analog switches
that can route signals up to ±10V. |

VIPod101 and VIPod101/T -
Analog or Thermocouple Input
|
|
|
Inputs:- 16 channels single-ended, 8 channels
differential on an individual channel basis. 24bit resolution.
4V input range with internal reference. Can be externally
referenced down to 100mV. 200mS per channel
sampling rate. May be used for bridge measurements.
Inputs - With the addition of a VIThrm connector, becomes the 6 Channel thermocouple temperature
measurement pod replacement for the obsolete T100. Can
measure temperature using any type of thermocouple and
can display to 1/10th degree C. Display selectable to
°C, °F or °K. In built cold junction compensation (CJC).

Logic Pods - there are 3 logic pods in the VIPodS range

These pods allow your PC to be used as relay or
lamp drivers, logic test systems, alarm annunciators,
event recorders etc.

VIPod30 - Isolated digital
inputs
|
|
|
Inputs:- 8 individual ON/OFF channels opto-isolated. Internal resistors set for 5V operation but can
be used at higher voltages with the addition of current
limiting resistors. |

VIPod40 - Power drivers
|
|
|
Outputs:- 8 pull down driver channels, 250mA
per channel. 50V maximum source voltage provided
by user. Flyback suppression. |

VIPod50 - Logic input/output
|
|
|
Inputs: - 8 channels TTL or 5V CMOS levels.
Internal pullup. Outputs: - 8 channels TTL or 5V CMOS
levels. |
