To download a file

Right Click link then select "Save Target As" (Microsoft Explorer) or "Save Link As" (Netscape Navigator/Firefox).

Choose or create a suitable directory to save file into as instructed.

Latest version of VIPS

The latest version is VIPS204g. If you do not have this version, download it from here. This is the full version including manuals and demonstration external drive files. Once you have downloaded the file, click on the vipsinstall.exe file and the program will be installed on your harddrive. If you overwrite your existing installation, your current initialising file vips.ini will be overwritten so save it with another name before installation. Other installation files will not be overwritten.

Programming development aids

THe programming development aids are all in the full download above. Descriptions of how to use them are in the manuals.

The VIPS program is a useful tool but it may not do what you want. To help you write your own programs, we provide two aids:-

VIPS204.DLL is a set of drivers for each of the pods. This has recently been updated to make it easier to call the programs. There are also some examples of programs using the VIPod DLL from C, Delphi and VB.

The pods may also be driven directly in assembler or in a higher level language. vi assembler.pdf contains details of the low level routines.

Demonstration Programs

Each of the demonstration programs is in a zip file and contains only the minimum files to make the demonstration work. After downloading, unzip in a folder of your choice then double click on the VIxx.exe file.

Virtual Instrument Presentation Software (VIPS) - This download only contains the VIPS program and the vips.ini file. The program is fully operational. If you want the manual and all the other files, download the full version above.

Virtual Instrument Logging System (VILS) - The logging software is a development from VIPS. The demonstration version does not write any information to disk.

Virtual Instrument Control Laboratory - The control laboratory software was developed for a customer in the education market. The demonstration works only with simulated plant and will not drive any actual pods.
