Applications of the VInstrumentation System

Function	Hardware to achieve function using VIPS software
Oscilloscope	VIPod10, VIPod10/20, VIPod101 or VInterface module.
Panel Meter	VIPod10, VIPod10/20, VIPod101 or VInterface module.
Data Logger	VIPod10, VIPod10/20, VIPod30, VIPod50, VIPod101 or VInterface module. VILS software gives enhanced control of logging features.
Alarm Annunciator	VIPod30 or VIPod50 to detect external alarms. VIPod40 or VIPod50 to drive external devices from alarms generated from VIPod10 or VIPod101 analog input pods
Event Recorder	VIPod30 (opto-isolated) or VIPod50 (5V logic) to detect external conditions. With VILS software, logging can be initiated by pattern changes.
Logic Analyser	As Event Recorder.
Precision Voltage	VIPod10 measures to 1mV. VIPod101 measures to 24bit resolution with input range dependent on reference voltage - 4.096 volts supplied.
Temperature Indicator	VIPod101 with VIThrm connector. The connector supplies a CJC temperature detector, 6 miniature universal thermocouple sockets and a voltage input that can be used as an external CJC.
Stress Monitor	VIPod101 can be configured to measure up to 8 strain gauge bridges.
Signal Generator	VIPod20 (4independent channels) or VIPod10/20 (1channel). Control of type of signal, frequency and amplitude. Arbitrary signals can be generated from data files. One signal can be used to modulate another using four quadrant multiplying feature
Arbitrary Waveform Generator	As Signal Generator. Each channel has an associated data file to define the signal. The signal can be defined on a point-by-point basis or in a piecewise linear manner.
PrecisionTtest Levels	VIPod20 or VIPod10/20. DC Level control can adjust output to 0.5mV over 2V range or to 1mV over ą2V or 4V ranges.
Pulse Generator	VIPod40 or 50. Any logic pattern involving the 8 logic levels can be generated using the external data file facility.
Logic Output Drive	VIPod40. Can be used to switch on lights or drive relays using the 8 channel power drivers. Each channel is capable of sinking 250mA from a 50V source. Flyback protected.
