A resident of Sundon Road for 32 years, she is a governor at St. Vincent's. As chair of the environment committee Shirley has a particular interest in tree planting, maintenance and improvements of the cemetery and the recreation grounds. Councillor Gilchrist is on the Steering Committee of the Tithe Farm Neighbourhood Centre.

Gerald believes more should be done for youths in the town, is concerend about housing development proposals in the north of Houghton Regis and the impact that will have on hospital resources and transport.

Eleven years a resident of Tithe Farm, Karen is married with 5 children and 9 grandchildren. For the past 5 years she has been involved in the running of independent Scout Association and is the current Assistant Chief Commissioner of the Bedfordshire Pathfinders Scouts Association. Karen believes there should be more activities for children, and more adults involved in helping to make child and youth activities safe.
