I noted that you have an interest in the FLINT family from your CEEFAX notice today.

Whilst investigating the HARDY family branch of my own tree, I was put in touch with Mrs Joyce HALL of 99 Nottingham Road, Selston. From the information she supplied me with in 1982, together with some dates from the St Helen's Parish churchyard, Selston, I have derived the attached tree.

At the foot of the attachment is a reference to Joseph HARDY, my 2 times great grandfather.

SARAH ANN FLINT By reference to the 1841 (Kirkby HO107/858/3/F32 page 51) and 1861 (Selston reference number not taken) census for Nottinghamshire, I deduced that one of the brothers of Joseph Hardy, Jonathan, married Sarah Ann FLINT before the 1861 census. Sarah, 18, is described as the daughter to the head of the household; Jonathan HARDY, 20, as son-in-law and coalminer. I did not take down the rest of the details from that census folio. A memorial stone in St.Helen's churchyard refers to Sarah Ann HARDY and Jonathan HARDY.

I would be interested to learn if you fit into any of it or can verify any of what Joyce told me. Regards,
