HOW TO USE BATCH CONVERSION IN IRFANVIEW

  1. Open the folder where the images are located. The images are listed.

  1. Right click one of the items in the folder, and select "Open with Irfanview. Irfanview opens.

  1. In Irfanview, click "File", then click Batch Conversion. The Batch Conversion Window opens.

4. Select Batch Conversion - Rename result files.

5. Tick the "Use advanced options" box.

6. Enter a "name pattern" e.g. TRKY### (I.e. use something different to what the originals are called.)

7. You now need to tell the programme which files to add. Click "Add All" button, all the files in the folder will be added. Or just select one file, then click “Add”, then another file, and click “Add”, and repeat until you have added all the images to be changed.

8. Next to the "Use advanced options" is the "Advanced" button. Touch the Advanced button now.

  1. The "Set for all images:" window opens.

10 . In the example shown, I have ticked the RESIZE box, and "Set the new size" to be 72% of the original. You can experiment with this. I have also ticked the preserve ratio box, and resample box.

  1. Pay attention to the MISCELLANEOUS BOX. I would suggest that you DO NOT TICK the "Delete original files after conversion" box. You can delete them later if you want to .

  1. Click OK. The Batch conversion re-opens.

  1. Select a folder to put the new files. To do this click the Browse button.

      1. Finally, touch the "Start Batch" button. The programme now lists the new output files.

      2. Locate the new files.
